Student data is protected in many ways. Legally, FERPA and state-laws require us to protect student data aside from some small exceptions. Institutional policy and professional standards also guide our efforts.
This introductory seminar covers some ways we can protect student data in the virtual world, the physical world, and our social interactions. After completing this course you will be able to better describe data security; differentiate between data, physical, and human security concerns; identify data security risks; and practice better data security in your workplace.
The entire curriculum is included here, but we have also broken up the course into lessons to help you track and check your learning over time.
